This policy sets out how Alagh & Kapoor Law Offices (the “Firm”) processes personal data provided through this website, having regard to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.
Information Collected
Where an enquiry is submitted through the contact form or by email, the Firm receives the information provided, which ordinarily comprises the name, email address and telephone number of the sender and a description of the enquiry.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. To understand which pages are read, the Firm counts visits with a simple counter that it runs itself. The counter sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses. It records only the page visited, the name of the website the visitor came from, the type of device and a short one-way code, derived from the visitor’s connection and browser details, that is used to count each visitor once a day. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into the original details, so visits cannot be linked from one day to the next. Visitors who have turned on “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control are not counted. These counts are kept for 24 months.
Purpose of Processing
Information is used solely to respond to the enquiry, to conduct conflict checks and, where the Firm is instructed, to act in the matter. It is not sold or shared for marketing purposes. Visit counts are used only to understand which pages are read and are not used to identify anyone.
Retention
Enquiries that do not result in an engagement are deleted within 12 months. Where the Firm is instructed, records are retained in accordance with its professional and legal obligations.
Rights of Data Principals
Requests to access, correct or erase personal data, or to withdraw consent, may be addressed to info@aklawoffices.in.
