Sonal Alagh, started her career in litigation in the year 2016, after completing her B.A. LLB from I.P. University, New Delhi. After working for a few years she did her masters in the Insolvency and Security laws from the Government Law College, Mumbai and gained diverse experience in dispute resolution across indus- tries, such as auto-parts, hospitality, media, infrastructure, power, et al.
In her initial years, she was working with the dispute resolution team of Desai & Diwanji, (New Delhi) and subsequently with Khai- tan (Mumbai) wherein she advised and represented leading multinational corporations. With her expertise in insolvency and debt recovery laws, she even got opportunities to deliver lectures on the highlights of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, before legal teams of various companies.
Subsequently, to gain an in-depth knowledge of the legal demands of companies, she decided to advise corporates and entered a retainership with the Oyo group, as a litigation consul- tant, wherein she handled dispute resolution and strategic advi- sory for contentious litigations.
She has expertise in examining and dealing with avoidance transaction of a company undergoing CIRP before the NCLT. Service sectors of the companies she has dealt with include Real Estate, Financial Services, NBFC’s, Manufacturing industries etc. She has also represented many resolution professionals and has advised them during the corporate insolvency resolution process, under the tenets of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
She continued assisting the Oyo Group till 2020, after which she decided to cater to a larger and more diverse clientele, by establishing Alagh & Kapoor Law Offices, along with her batchmate from law school.
